Jewellery

Adornment amongst Africans is not only decorative - wearing jewellery also reflects status in society, age, religion and more. A wide variety of materials are used to make the jewellery that we may stock at any one time: metals such as copper, brass, nickel and silver; beads of stone, terracotta, glass, bone, Ostrich eggshell and wood; shells such as cowrie shells; leather and semi-precious stones.

     Bracelets & Bangles

Our range of bracelets and bangles is diverse. We have brass, copper and silver-plated contemporary cuffs; traditional beaded bangles from South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania, bracelets from Ethiopia that combine indigenous gemstones with handmade silver charms, silver and nickel Tuareg bangles from the Sahara, trade bead bracelets from Ghana, modern sterling silver designs, traditional copper bracelets and more.

     Earrings & Rings

Our range of earrings includes brass, copper and silver-plated contemporary earrings; beaded earrings from South Africa, earrings from Ethiopia that combine indigenous semi-precious stones with handmade silver charms, silver and nickel Tuareg earrings from the Sahara, and modern sterling silver designs.

     Necklaces

Necklaces in Africa are much more than body ornament. Often given to children when they are very young, they continue to change with stages of life, showing wealth and status in society. The combination of materials used, the style in which they are used, and the incorporation of contemporary articles with traditional coincide with Western urban fashion, and have influenced many designers.
