Ndebele Tribal Bead Hanging #03

Standard Price $360.00 AUD
Reduced to $280.00 AUD

Linga Koba - literally 'long tears' - these beaded strips, containing thousands of beads, are worn by matrons whose sons have undergone initiation into manhood.

Two strips are worn - one on either side of the face - symbolising the mother's mixed feelings at this time - her joy at her son's attainment of manhood, and her sorrow at losing her child.
